2007 Blanc de Syrah

Blush wines don't get a lot of respect, but this one will surprise you.

We make a concentrated blush by taking this bold grape and leaving it on the skins a bit longer than a typical blush or rosé.

The result is a blush wine with concentrated flavors of strawberry and grapefruit that you normally never taste in a red Syrah or most any other blush.  We also leave enough residual sugar in this off-dry wine so that it pairs well with the spicy food Southern Californians love. 

It has quickly become a local favorite. Served chilled, this is a great barbecue wine and also works for simply sipping on a hot day.

2005 Merlot

Estate bottled, this Merlot reflects the unique growing conditions of the Ramona Valley appellation.

Granite soils conspire with the coastal fog of spring followed by a hot summer to produce a bold Merlot that stands up well to any meat dish but is smooth enough to drink on its own.

While Merlots will sometimes exhibit an almost minty, tea leaf flavor, Ramona Merlots do so consistently.  Some credit the Eucalyptus trees that dominate Ramona.  We just know it tastes good.

2005 Syrah

Syrah may become the leading grape in the Ramona Valley appellation and this wine shows why.

With our hot, dry summers Syrah grapes bask in the sun and develop a distinctive boldness here as they post high sugar and acid numbers - essential ingredients to bold reds that age well.

Our 2005 Syrah is almost inky black in color, reflecting the intensity of Syrah in Ramona.  Sparingly oaked, this wine says "Syrah" in a big, unabashed way.
